i am so tired and unmotivated. really need to work on my outline for psych and the law but i could care less about it. yes, it's just an outline, but it's graded and if we get a good grade, then we don't have to do the paper which is a really good thing in my case because the paper is due the same day as my cognitive psych final. despite having said all that, i'm still having trouble seeing the long-term benefits of focusing and working really hard on this outline. i'm going to pull an all-nighter to work on it but i just feel like it's going to end up really crappy anyway just because i really don't give a crap about it. i just used the word crap twice in a sentence. see how tired i am? it's not even that i'm sleepy, i'm just tired.

just as a side note, sdsu's campus SUCKS. we got lost and drove past frat row like three times. and corinne (the fmla president) is really quite a funny girl. she believes she and john mayer are destined to be together and that he wrote the song "neon" just for her ("she's always buzzing just like neon, neon. who knows how long, how long, how long she can go before she burns away") mostly just because she feels like she's going to have a nervous breakdown any second now (okay, well, that part's not so funny).

anyway. the fmla event today was really cool. we got nicky mccrimmon, the point guard for the la sparks (from the wnba), to come down and give a talk. she was super cool. very laid back and down to earth and really taught us a lot about some of the injustices that women athletes in the united states still face AND about a lot of the progress they've made recently (although, still not enough, apparently). she asked us how many of us knew that the los angeles sparks were two-time champions. two people raised their hands. then she asked us how many of us knew that the los angeles lakers were three-time champions. everyone raised their hands. she also told us that many of the women on the wnba can't make a living off playing basketball like all of the men on the nba can. many of the wnba players have to supplement their incomes by taking part-time jobs; she's a substitute teacher and part-time coach. now, really, could you imagine shaquille o'neal or, i dunno, kobe bryant as substitute teachers? i don't think so. and how many times do people complain about the skyrocketing salaries of professional athletes? i mean, really, can we not take some of that and give it to the women athletes? you know, the ones who are actually WINNING games?! men can lose games and people will still go to watch them. women will win games and no one pays attention. doesn't make sense.

okay, this ranting has to stop. i need to work on my outline.

but i really don't want to.
