yesterday was a great day. ;D spent pretty much the entire day in san francisco. we all woke up super early though (and knowing all of us, probably all went to sleep really late too) so we were all quite sluggish at 9 in the morning. but once we got going, we were good. oh yes, we = me, deb, jacq, tim, mike, and david.
once we got to sf, we spent the remainder of the morning and the entire afternoon at the sf zoo. i liked it. it was like a mini version of the san diego zoo. with a lot of the same animals and less of the major walking. ;D i can't get over that "miniature" pig though. when we were at the petting zoo, there was this sign in front of this pen that said "miniature pig" but once you looked inside, the pig was HUUUUUUGE. he was sprawled over like a third of the pen or something. "miniature" my butt! ooh, and we got to see them feed the tigers with dead rabbits. it was great. we were so close, we could see everything. and hear everything. we heard this one tiger crunching on the bones of the rabbit. the same tiger had a quirky eating habit though. he felt the need to remove all the fur from the rabbit first. (i made a punny little joke about it that deb thought was really bad. oh well.) it was actually kind of amusing because there was fur flying everywhere and he kept getting huge chunks of it stuck in his teeth. anyway, the zoo was great. ;D
afterwards, we headed over to fisherman's wharf where we sort of just wandered around for a bit. surprisingly, that was my first time there. usually when i go to sf with my parents, we're always in chinatown. or when i go with other friends, we go to powell or...other parts of sf. ;) never really the "touristy" spots though. so it was nice getting to walk around and see all the shops and stuff. we spent quite a bit of time watching the sea lions though. they were pretty amusing too. all barking and wrestling with each other. there was this never ending fight between several of them on this one raft. they just kept trying to push the other off. i thought it was just so funny. ooh, it was cold though. anyway, after that, we headed over to hooter's for dinner. yeah.... that place is... special. i don't know. can't think of a suitable word for it. i can't believe we even ate there. oh well. i had clam chowder. it was nice and warm and yummy. deb pointed out that our waitress frequently bent over our table in order to emphasize her assets while she took our orders. figures deb would point out something like that. ;D and i couldn't help wondering if they would even hire a person like me. not that i would want employment there, but i wonder if there's like a size requirement for their waitresses. if so, i'm as far from it as womanly possible. anyway, it was great. i guess, in the end, it's just one of those places that you have to go to once in your life.
after hooter's, we headed back to our cars but got sidetracked by this sidewalk performer. his little trick was juggling lit torches. although, once he spotted jacq in the crowd with her ucla sweatshirt, he just couldn't stop making cracks at ucla. that's just wrong!! although i just think it's funny how this is the second time her ucla sweatshirt has been the cause of weird things happening (the first, of course, being how we were stopped in the middle of the sidewalk in downtown la jolla and had a full on conversation with three old strangers who ultimately invited us to their horse's birthday party.) so anyway, we got back to the cars and headed on home. i went back with tim and mike this time which proved to be amusing when they had to take a pit stop and peed in some bushes while i locked them out of the car. ;D then we got back to david's house and just hung out. i proved my star trek nerdiness in a game of star trek trivia. then it got late and we all went home around two in the morning.
all in all, super day. four stars. two thumbs up. i love san francisco.
