ohmygoodness. i am in love. with a three year old boy named julian.
so i woke up early today to go testing at westminster preschool. thought i was lost for a little bit and had a mini-freak out even though i was following the directions perfectly. i do that a lot, second guess myself. oh well.
we tested two boys today. i was the second experimenter for the first boy so i only assisted. but i was the first experimenter for julian. so adorable!! his eyes just crinkled up every time he smiled and he had the cutest smile. he's gonna be a heartbreaker when he grows up, i just know it.
he was so into the experiments too even though they were pretty damn boring. when i asked him to point to the picture of the cactus, he pointed to it and then said "ow!!" as if he had pricked his fingers on one of the thorns. and then when i asked him to point to the picture of the castle, he asked me if castles were real and then told me that he'd like to live in one. awwwwww!! and he's so smart!! on this experiment, the one where i ask him to point to pictures of various things (and the list of words gets progressively more difficult), he went on for like, forever. poor kid got bored, but in the "i'm-too-smart-for-this-game-let's-play-something-else" way. total smarty. and on another experiment, i was showing him made up objects and he asked me how this one part had been attached to the object and i said, "it's magic!" and he said in a knowing voice, "ohhh, i see." and then when i showed him another object with a part attached, he said, "look, they put it on with magic!!" ahhhhhh!! i love him.
too bad we're randomizing experimenters this quarter. i won't be able to test him again. :( so sad.
