why won't my internet work?!

because i am stupid. that's why.

so my dsl has been down for over an hour and a half and i just couldn't figure out why. so i called tech support and she had me unplug the modem and restart it (great idea. why didn't i think of it?! oh wait, I DID. thanks a lot, lady). of course, that didn't work. so she told me that a technician would call me tomorrow morning (earliest at 7 am. gasp!) and try to fix it over the phone. why she couldn't do it then or transfer me to someone who could is beyond me. so i said, okay, wrote down a bunch of case numbers and hung up. once my parents came home, i told my dad what happened. the phone in my room had mysteriously gone out as well. there was no dial tone. i had to use the phone in my mother's room to call tech support. after much investigation, my father concluded that i had accidentally unplugged the phone from the wire splitter on the floor. good job, cherry. sigh. i felt stupid, but whatever. at least it works now! my dad is a miracle worker.

anyway, it's been a while. i have a couple of tutoring jobs now thanks to one miss christina chen. she's been tutoring kids for a while now and recently, a couple mothers called her and asked her if she could tutor their kids. since her hands were full with the kids she has already, she asked if i wanted to do it. sure why not. money! and it's been pretty easy so far. i tutor a 7th grade boy on mondays and wednesdays from 330 to 430 and a 3rd grade boy on tuesdays and thursdays from 4 to 5. the only problem i have is that they both live in ardenwood and both times are right during rush hour. but it's okay. i get money. woohoo!

in other news, my papa jo is up in the air as i write this, on her way to australia. she will be gone for a long long time and i will miss her. :( what will i do without you, jo? momma deb will just go back to abusing me. seriously though, i hope you have fun in all your adventures and you better not forget about me. as a small going away present, deb and i treated jo to a mani/pedi yesterday. deb and i got manis as well. i liked the way the guy in vegas painted my nails but this one is a lot more durable; the one in vegas started chipping by the next day but this one has been holding on so far (*knocks on wood*).

and last night was our last night together. deb, david, mike, steven, ha, and i all squished into jo's room and watched her finish packing. then we just talked and asked each other stupid questions like we always do ("what if men could all of a sudden become pregnant and david was pregnant with my baby?" "what if joanna was actually leaving to go back to the future?" "what if joanna is debra and david's future child?!" "what if ha and i switched bodies??"). aww. now i'm really going to miss jo because these kinds of conversations are only funniest when all of us are there. :( hahaha, i still remember "boromir or faramir?" *pause* "....gimli." sorry jo, you will never live that down.

well, looking forward to aborn's wedding reception this weekend. the first one of us to get married. how exciting! plus, it'll be like a mini high school reunion with so many msj people attending. yay!
