okay, i'm sorry, but i'm going to talk about figure skating some more.
was just watching the olympics just now and they took a little break to interview scott hamilton, then jamie and david about last night's controversy. afterwards, bob costas reported that the french judge (one of the five judges who scored the russian pair better than the canadian pair) told a reporter or the isu or someone that she was "forced" to make a deal where she would give the russians a better score in the pairs in exchange for a better score for the french in ice dancing. what REALLY SUCKS about this whole thing is that last night's judging, while certainly not the first time something like this has happened (unfortunately), is just dragging the entire sport down. while it's true that the judging in ice dancing is questioned the most out of all the disciplines, it just really sucks this time because anissina & peizerat (the french ice dancing pair) are really REALLY good - my favorite pair actually - and they themselves were totally jipped at the '99 world championships. i mean, my god, ice dancing hasn't even started yet and already they're being questioned. it seriously just sucks because they're such a good pair. EVERYTHING in figure skating is just being dragged through the mud which sucks so much because i really love watching this sport.
ohmygod...now there are accusations that there was fixing in speed skating with apolo anton ohno. THE ISU IS SO FUCKED UP. well, okay, these accusations aren't quite as strong and they seem more unfounded. still though. this is just...i can't help but remember that oath that this one official (representing all of the judges and officials of the games) took during the opening ceremonies to judge/officiate all events fairly and impartially. right.
you know what? this is totally cutting into my homework time. i told myself that i would try to get ahead with work tonight, but obviously, that isn't happening. and i hate relative pronouns in italian. they just make no sense. but i'm off to work on that. must stop thinking about olympics.
