i need to talk to someone about figure skating!! where's debra?!?

well anyway, since deb isn't online, i'll just go ahead and blog anyway since i know she's gonna read this at some point. if you're not debra and you could care less about figure skating, i would just stop reading right now if i were you.

okay, still here? anyway, was just watching bob costas (who, i think, is a bit of a jerk) interview the three american ladies figure skaters (michelle kwan, sarah hughes, and sasha cohen). what a little brat sasha cohen is. i never realized it before. while i'm always rooting for michelle, i think sasha's skating is really good. before, i would always think, well if michelle couldn't win, i would want sasha to win more than sarah (her skating is just...not graceful. don't really like her style too much), but now...uh-uh. bob asked sasha if she was trying to send michelle an intentional message by nearly-crashing into her during their six minute warm-ups before their performances. and they actually showed a picture of sasha and michelle like *THIS CLOSE* to each other on the ice which is just really dangerous. sasha's answer: something along the lines of "i'm just really focused on myself" as well as various other bullshit. while that's not a bad answer, it's just the way she said that line (repeatedly) that made me think "brat." oy... now...well, now, if michelle can't win gold, i would want irina slutskaya (one of the russian women) to win. you know what actually? i wish angela nikodinov had made it onto the american team. i would really be rooting for her. she used to be a very so-so skater, but now she's just awesome. by the way...i just realized...sasha never actually said, "no" in her answer; she just spewed a bunch of bullshit all over the place. bah!! figure skating is such a...catty sport (anyone remember katarina witt and debi thomas? no? well then you must remember tonya harding and nancy kerrigan). which makes me respect michelle kwan so much more. she has grace and dignity and she's GENUINE. she's the real deal, people.

*takes a deep breath* okay, well, i just had to get that out. deb, if you're reading, i wish i could be talking to you right now!! OH WAIT!! YOU'RE ONLINE! HAHHAHAHA... okay, well... hi then. ;D
