busy day today. went to class in the morning. we watched emperor's new groove in italian. it was dubbed in italian. the teacher wanted us to watch an italian film without subtitles and she figured disney movies would be easiest since most of us have seen them and if we haven't, the plot's pretty easy to figure out anyway. so...yeah. oh! but what was really funny was that she brought in her six or seven year old son. he was SOOO CUTE. i mean, you would think at that age, they just are not cute. they're just full of mischief and cooties and whatnot. but this kid was like, absolutely adorable. i think what really helped was that he was constantly talking in italian. just upped his cute quotient ten fold. i love little italian kids. they're so bold yet cutely so. he was sitting next to me too. while his mother was talking about the film at the beginning of class, he was just sitting there kind of fidgety, bouncing up and down on the seat and looking around everywhere. he turned to look at me, and i looked at him, and he gave me this HILARIOUS face. he like puckered his lips and did this fish face thing. oohhhh, my ovaries skipped a beat.

anyway, i actually sort of dozed off during the film because, well, i really did not get it. i mean, c'mon, no subtitles?!? what's up with that?? after italian, i went to my second experiment. it was the one that sanaz told me her friend did. the guy placed this huge stack of blank white papers in front of me and told me to count out 400 of them and place them in stacks of ten. after i did it the first time, he asked me to estimate how long it took me and i said seven minutes. then he said, "if i told you to do that again, how long do you think it would take you?" and i said about the same time. so i did it again and after i was finished he took out his stopwatch and said, "you were close. it took you fourteen minutes." heehee...i'm not a good counter. well...not an efficient one anyway. oh well. the second part of the experiment was really weird. he pulled out a folder and a scented candle. he said that he had a picture in the folder that he wanted me to look at for a certain amount of time. after i was done staring at the picture, he wanted me to sniff the scented candle for a certain amount of time. so i looked at the picture, which was a picture of a puppy. it's stupid, but i remember thinking, "aww, how cute, it's a puppy!" then i sniffed the candle which had this like spicy, vanilla-y scent. then he had me rate how pleasant the experience was on a scale of one to twelve. i gave it an eleven. :) and...that was it. weeeeeird stuff, man.

afterwards, i went to the programs abroad office to get information on oap in italy. since i'm overqualified for the eap summer program in italy and i don't want to go during the school year, i decided to look into oap stuff because i still really REALLY want to go. if there was still any way i could go this summer, i would. so i just looked up some stuff and got tons of info and left. then i stopped by the post office to pick up a box and then by the atm to get more cash (oy). then i went home and picked up my mail. got another certificate for the provost's honors list. you make the provost's honors lists if your gpa for the quarter is 3.50 or above. i don't know...i don't really feel like i deserve them because i'm not taking very difficult classes; the difficult classes that i take were all pass/no pass (well, except for math). so, relatively speaking, it's not that great an achievement. compared to everyone else, my classes are a breeze. no hum, no science, no math. just languages and...random stuff. well..i guess you could call stat math but it's not very difficult math.

anyway, i got home and made a copy of the nsync tape and wrote a short letter explaining it. then i made lunch and ate. by this time it was like 2 pm and i still hadn't eaten anything so i was quite starving. then i went to the post office to mail off THE TAPE. heeheeheeeeee.... it was funny because i addressed it out to "trl home videos" and the guy at the post office was like, "america's funniest home videos, huh?" i didn't feel like correcting him so i just said yes and paid and left. then it was off to buy tickets for the vagina monologues. unfortunately, they're sold out of the thursday (valentine's day) show so the only day left is next wednesday. so...sanaz, if you're reading this, would you still want to go on wednesday? so then i went to geisel to go watch an italian film for, well, italian class. oy...there weren't any subtitles on this one as well. so, yes, i started dozing off during the film. i kinda sorta got the plot. well okay fine, i have absolutely no idea what was going on in the movie. see? this is why i need to go to italy.

and...now i'm here. definitely a busier day than i've had lately. i'm dreading this weekend. well...i'm already in the weekend so i'm basically trying to just bite the bullet now. it's not like i have a lot of homework, because i don't. i just have some italian homework to do. it's just that, while i have the room to myself, i am unfortunately stuck with...well, you know whos. and while one you know who i can handle, TWO you know whos together is just too much for me to take. yeah, okay, i know it sounds really immature to say "you know who" instead of using names, but i think it's even more immature to *actually* use names because that's just plain stupid. anyway, with my roommate (sanaz) and therapist (melissa) home for the weekend, i sense a horrific outburst of rage creeping up. spiteful resentful bitchy cherry will not be quiet for very much longer.

sigh.

anyway, opening ceremonies for winter olympics in half an hour! just need to change into my pajamas and calm down.
