hi! oh, blog, how i've missed you so.
busy week, man. sad thing is it starts all over again in a couple days. pfft. totally freaked out about stat homework due this afternoon. but let's not talk about that. let's see...what's happened in a week...?
oh, yes! jo, jacq, and kenny came down! hurrah! it was finally nice to prove to my roommates that i actually DO have friends and that i didn't make them up. jo and jacq already blogged all about it, so i'm just going to say that it was wonderful amazing terrific and i'm so glad they came down. sad that it was the last time i'd see jo, but let's not dwell on that either. sorta annoyed at la jolla weather though last weekend. damn fog. oh yes, almost forgot. strangest/funniest/weirdest part of the weekend was getting stopped in the middle of the sidewalk by these three middle-aged/old people and ending up conversing with them for like over half an hour or something. and in the end, got invited to their horse's birthday party on valentine's day. they're quirky, them old people!
so, of course, it was a fabulous weekend. unfortunately, i paid for it by worrying about my stat homework all week and then having a total spaz attack while frantically trying to finish it. but, like i said, let's not talk about that. hmm...what else did i do this week.
OH!! i started the experiment on wednesday! it was pretty fun. the first time, i made several mistakes. thing is, the subject didn't catch on. i mean, he didn't suspect us of lying to him or anything. the problem was that he was totally coming onto the other girl (the other "subject"). when i went to go take a cookie, he wasn't even paying attention to me! i felt like i should've waved the cookie in front of his face and screamed, "OOH THESE COOKIES ARE GOOD!!!" psh. boys. it was sort of funny too because, the way we were sitting, i was smack dab in between them and i just felt like a horrid third wheel. story of my life. oh well, he saw her take some food. but i still don't think he took any. =| but it was my first time, so it's okay. the second time i did it, it went PERFECT. thank goodness for aborn!! yes, aborn. the subject turned out to be mormon and i mentioned that i had a friend on his mission in melbourne. turns out she also has a friend who is in melbourne on his mission so we had that in common. and when we left the room with the food, i totally heard her going for the food as well. hah!! i'm loving this! lying through my teeth at everything. first time, i was cherry, a 21-year-old who drives an old honda and drinks dark beer. another time i was "helen," a 20-year-old from los angeles, and another time i was "debra," a 19-year-old from chula vista who thinks cognitive science is so cool. don't worry, i'll get to your name soon! ;D although i don't think i can ever be "sanaz." that's just so...persian. and i'm not.
ooh, and when i was walking up to the mail room with clayton (the grad student running the whole darn thing), he told me that he had already watched a couple of the videos from the hidden camera. he told me of this one subject who took a cookie when she wasn't supposed to but then felt so bad about it that she started to rearrange all the cookies in the bowl to make it appear as if she hadn't taken one. eehehehehehehehehehehe... i can't wait to watch some of those! we get to on monday!
okay, so the week's finally over. i think i'm going to go recuperate on my bed and then...well, that's it.
one more thing though. not like she'll ever see this, but happy belated 21st birthday to my girl chris! well, it wasn't belated when i flung myself at her in the middle of price center screaming
"HAPPY BIRTHDAAAAAY!!!" in fact, it was a day early. hehe. oops. ;D or, as joey would say, "oops."
