overcome with laziness.

i should be showering now and getting ready to go tutoring but i'm just too damn lazy. all i want to do is stay at home and watch my friends dvds and knit.

and what's up with this weird heat wave? it's october! my weatherbug says it's 89 degrees outside right now. deb and i felt weird yesterday shopping for snow jackets when it was so hot. oh well. i like warm weather so who am i to complain. it's just...weird. hopefully, there won't be any crazy fire storms because of weird heat waves like last october. man, i wish i had had my digital camera then because i could've taken good pictures of the smoky air and ash flying around.

anyway. snow jackets. i just got one! i bought one from ae.com yesterday. it's this one. i had seen it in a mail advertisement first and wanted to try to find it at the stores first. but since i was so lazy (what else is new), i just called some of the stores to see if they had it. good thing i did because none of the stores had it. one of the stores i called said that they don't carry it because they're a sunbelt store. damn california. they said that the only store that would carry it would be the san francisco one. so i called there and they said they had two left (in my size!). but sf is just so damn far and it would be too much trouble to go aaaall that way for a jacket. so i just ordered it online. had a 15% discount coupon which basically covered tax and shipping. damn shipping. oh well. i'm happy with it. we better go snowboarding now. otherwise it will have been for nothing.

anyway. that's about the most excitement i've had lately. well, after the wedding, of course. tutoring is going okay. both kids i'm tutoring are boys so they're not very talkative. what is it with boys and not talking? how boring. okay, speaking of which, i really should get ready now. okay, bye!

it's a wedding!

yes, the first wedding among our little msj group. and it was fun. :)

i had a great time this weekend, i've just been too lazy to blog about it. but now i'm bored with nothing to do so here we go.

on saturday, a whole bunch of people met up at my house just before 7. well, david came a little early so he could play x-men legends with mike. silly boys. kinda cute seeing them all dressed up and playing video games though. anyway, once everyone arrived, we headed over to the place. it was actually a gym that was connected to a church of latter day saints. there was a whole fall theme with leaves on the floor and pumpkins on the tables. if you haven't already seen pictures, you can see them here. although i think i will post a few of my favorites here after i finish this entry.

anyway, we had a yummy buffet thai dinner and spent the whole time mingling with old msj people and taking lots of silly pictures. it was good seeing everyone and we all looked so pretty! there was a funny moment when aborn was throwing the garter and none of the mission boys looked like they wanted to catch it. aborn actually didn't throw it far enough so it landed on the floor several feet in front of the guys. no one made a move to pick it up except for this little boy who lunged for it and then waved it in the air victoriously. i even got to see a little girl dancing with her father (or uncle) on the dance floor. she was doing little twirls and everything. so cute. tried to take pictures but they kept coming out badly and i didn't want to look like a crazy woman taking pictures of people i don't know (even though i am and i did).

afterwards, we went karaoking. at first, it was just me, deb, chi, jacq, ha, san, mike, david, steven, bobby, yeung, and kuan. (man, that's too long of a list). but some msj boys decided to come along later on (let's see... howard, john, paul, and nick). it was fun being in that room and singing our hearts out. i had a good time karaoking. i think it was just more fun with all those people there. and we were all dressed up! everything's just more fun when we're dressed up. ;D although the song selections were quite sparse. no nsync! no britney! yes yes, they're silly pop songs, but silly pop songs are the best to sing at the top of your lungs. but i must say that my favorite song that night was "pump up the jam" as sung by david and mike. anyway, after karaoke, we headed over to jacq's house (no parents!) and played cranium. well, everyone else played while i rested on the couch. tried to help the boys a little, but it was no use. and then we called it a night.

the next day, deb called around 1130 or something to ask us if we wanted to go eat lunch since jacq and bobby were leaving that afternoon. i actually heard both my house phone and my cell phone ring but refused to pick up either since i was just so damn tired and didn't want to get out of bed (i mean, c'mon, both phones were in the next room). i even heard the beep on my cell phone go off as deb left a voicemail. the woman was relentless, however, and called mike's cell next. unlike me, he actually leapt out of bed to pick it up. deb says that if he hadn't picked up, she would've considered walking over to my house and ringing my doorbell, possibly throw rocks at my bedroom window (actually, that's impossible since the backyard gate is locked and i doubt she would jump it after my whole gate jumping fiasco). damn her for living so close and always knowing when we're home.

anyway, we got up and got ready and met up with everyone at pepper lunch. i was scared of all the burning oil on my dish, so momma deb helped me pour the sauce on my plate. after lunch, we all headed back to my house so the boys could play x-men legends. yes, i played too. i've been brainwashed. anyway, that was basically my weekend. i loved it. i had the best time seeing everyone and just being stupid and silly.
