kids are cute.

went testing at solana beach this morning. started out okay but once sam started testing as first experimenter, things went at like lightning speed and i was getting ulcers from trying to keep up with her. i was driving home around noon and i was still tense. felt kinda sorry for the kids. she was talking so fast, i'm surprised the kids could even understand what she was saying. i bet they weren't even paying attention and were pointing to things at random. that wouldn't surprise me.

anyway, the first two kids i tested were oh-so-cute. tommy nodded his little head every time i asked him a question. and he had the biggest cutest eyes. so shy but cute. skylar (what a gorgeous name) was really talkative but still really cute. i love it when kids still can't really pronounce their R's and they come out sounding like W's. it was so cute every time she said "bird." i asked her what her favorite color was and she said red. and then she said, "but i like every color in the rainbow!" "wow, really?!" i said. "yeah!! AND i like every color outside of the rainbow too!!" oh man. so cute. and she makes a good point - we really shouldn't restrict ourselves to the colors just inside the rainbow. in between games, i asked her if she had any brothers or sisters and she said she had a 5 year old sister. so i asked if she likes to play with her sister and she said yes "but sometimes she doesn't like to play with me." and she had the saddest look on her face. my heart just broke.

after those two, i started losing my voice from talking so much (and so enthusiastically). sometimes i catch myself sounding patronizing and i wonder if the kids must hate it. but then i remember that they're only three years old. but still. sucks to hear "now let me show you something else!" ten million times. certainly sucks to say it ten million times.

hey, random fact - queen latifah and wayne brady are trekkies. suddenly, i feel so cool. hah! don't you all wish you were trekkies now?! yeah okay whatever, i'll go back into my dark little trekkie closet now.

yay, my day is over. now i can just settle back with my book and relax. hopefully.

weekend update.

okay. the last few entries have been kind of unpleasant. i don't like seeing them there when i go to my blog. but i'm not gonna erase them because that's stupid. so i'm just gonna write another fluffy filler entry right now.

now that the weekend is over, i've realized how nice it was to have the house all to myself. it's been so quiet and peaceful. such a rarity these days. i absolutely love it. i feel like i've gotten quite a bit done this weekend too although at the same time i feel like i haven't. weird feeling (and bad sentence). well, let's see. i worked out both mornings. i've been working out on the weekends since...last weekend. a long time for me, i know. but i've been going! i went last saturday and sunday and this saturday and sunday. i think i'm just going because i can still use the gym for free before i graduate. it's the asian in me.

anyway, what else did i do. i ran some errands yesterday after working out. why is gas so expensive? why god, why?!?! *cries of anguish* "nationwide, gas has gone up 14 cents in the last two weeks," said the guy on the news just now. man, that sucks. did i do anything else yesterday? erm...no. okay, well then.

what did i do today? worked out in the morning. came home, ate, and showered. washed my sheets, then went to the coin op to wash my comforter because it's too big for our washer and dryer. dude, it cost me $8.25 to wash and dry that thing! i had to use the biggest washer which cost like $6.75. unbelievable! (heehee, that makes me think of vizzini saying "inconceivable!") anyway, that was kind of an ordeal. but whatever. my bed's all nice and clean now. and then i came home and sat around and read.

oh yes, i've been reading sophie kinsella's new book "can you keep a secret?" it's pretty good. i've laughed out loud several times. definitely not as good as the shopaholic series. but, you know, those were the best. i still giggle every time i think of the word "finnish." still a pretty good read though. almost done with it. i've been taking my time but now i'm gonna try to get through it quickly so i can start reading some school stuff. blech.

oh man, i should get to bed soon. gotta wake up early to go testing. yay.
