warning: long blog ahead.
i feel obligated to blog because i feel like i've done quite a bit since the last time i blogged. but yes, this will be a long one. brace yourself. let's see... on saturday, deb, jacq, mike and i went to the fremont arts & wine festival. one of the only traditions i've ever kept is to go to the fremont arts & wine festival every year even though i rarely ever buy anything except food. it's just nice to walk around and look at all the pretty things - especially the paintings and photography. i did buy a lemon smoothie cup thing and an apple and cinnamon funnel cake. mmm.... yummy goodness. later that night, mike and i went to go watch the village. we both thought it was pretty good even though the word is that it sucks. don't listen to people - it's good, it's worth the money, go watch it. it's really not that scary (even though i did look away from the screen a few times) and it's a good story. sunday, deb and i went to target and bought many things. i don't even really remember what we bought. i bought a couple storage boxes which i still haven't used to clean up yet. well...i haven't really done any cleaning still. but...whatever. somehow managed to spend quite a bit of money, i have no idea how. that's what target does to you. sucks you in for a couple hours and drains your wallet. evil target. how i love you so. anyway, i don't think i did anything on monday or tuesday. hung out at the park in milpitas a little in the afternoon with steven, jacq, deb, and david. tossed around frisbees and played with the volleyball. got hit square in the face with the frisbee when david acidentally threw it at me when i wasn't looking. stupid sunglasses. wednesday, went to san francisco with same group as above. our main purpose was to visit the california academy of science. unfortunately, the new location (the old location in golden gate park is being renovated) was much smaller and had much less exhibits. since it was my first trip there, i was very underwhelmed by it. yes, underwhelmed is a word and i just used it and you can't stop me. at least it was free admission. unfortunately (yes again), that meant hordes of annoying kids screaming and running around. so we didn't spend much time there. maybe an hour or so. not wanting the trip to sf to go to waste, we decided to visit fisherman's wharf. had some yummy fish 'n chips there and then walked around a bit. watched the crazy sea lions barking and lounging around. always fun to watch the male sea lions fighting one another for territory and females. such a simple life. anyway, after that, we decided to go to golden gate park. stopped at the arboretum and walked around. it was pretty nice. took a bunch of pictures of random flowers for my mom. found this nice open space that i thought would be perfect for a wedding. i mean, perfect. so deb and david posed for silly pictures at the spot. we stopped by the lake and tried to feed some ducks with stale bread but they didn't want any of it. so i settled for running around and chasing the pigeons away. i hate pigeons. if i see one on the street, i will not slow down for it. it's its own fault if it gets run over by my car. anyway, after walking around the arboretum a bit, we drove off and tried to find a way to stop near the golden gate bridge to take a walk on it. unfortunately, took a wrong turn and ended up at the palace of fine arts which was perfectly fine since it's so pretty. i took quite a lot of pictures of the dome monument thingy. we saw some turtles sitting on the side of the lake. for the most part, they were just very still and boring but one of them actually hissed and snapped at us. that was bizarre and a little bit scary. so after that, we decided to leave sf. stopped at jack london square in oakland to eat dinner at the old spaghetti factory. wasn't that hungry so i just ate a bunch of bread and salad and a few bites of my fettucine then boxed pretty much all of it. had brilliant dinner conversation where i recounted the story of my birth. apparently, there was a bit of trouble trying to get my head out so the doctor used some forceps (or a forceps-like instrument) to get me out. so steven decided to nickname me forceps. hmm... it was much funnier during dinner. anyway, we finally left for home around 830, got a little lost, arrived home, and hung out at deb's for a little bit. it was a very nice day of doing stuff. all free too! except for food. but that doesn't count. thanks deb and david for driving. today, i went swimming with jacq. it was strangely cold and we couldn't warm up no matter how much we swam (i really wanted to type "swimmed" but stopped myself). later in the evening, i went shopping with deb and jacq. bought three pairs of really well fitting pants at ae - two pairs of jeans (one dark washed, and one medium vintage) and a pair of khakis. i was very surprised that they fit so well. it makes me sublimely happy. i think my favorite pair are the khakis because i don't really have any good khaki pants and these ones fit so well and look so good! i could go on and on about these pants. and i had a coupon for 20% off! really, it just doesn't get any better than this. happy sigh. and that, folks, brings us to the end. did you make it? |
