oh, btw...
who the fuck spammed my blog by leaving comments about fucking prom dresses? i mean, seriously. who the fuck spams a blog?! it actually happened a while ago, but i just remembered. argh.
but just to make this blog not so negative, i recommend hypocrite in a pouffy white dress by the totally hilarious and sarcastic susan jane gilman. i still like kiss my tiara much better but just because that's like, the definitive kick-ass book. hypocrite is more of a memoir but it's still really really funny. it's one of those books that makes you giggle out loud but then you feel stupid because you're in a public place and you look kind of silly laughing by yourself.
also, i highly recommend anna nalick. she reminds me of jewel and michelle branch, but like twice as good as those two since those two have gotten kind of blah lately.
okay, that's all. oh yeah, and DON'T SPAM MY BLOG!!!!!! you fuckers.

drop it like it's hot.
i don't know. i couldn't think of a title and that song is stuck in my head. damn snoop dogg. anyway, i had a pretty good weekend so i feel compelled to blog about it.
on friday, deb, david, ha, mike, and i went to sf. thanks to deb and david for driving! we went to the masonic center first for the universe within exhibit. it was basically a bunch of displays of cadavers that had been preserved with this new technique called plastination. it was pretty interesting. i'm disappointed that we weren't allowed to take pictures. it was crazy how we could actually see everything that was in the bodies, even the veins and arteries. most of the cadavers were male so seeing all the penises made me giggle a little. yes, i'm five years old, but c'mon...penises are funny. anyway, there was a cool (and somewhat freaky) display of a male cadaver that had been skinned and was actually holding his own skin (ALL of it, in one big piece) on a clothes hanger. another display was a guy that had been completely sliced up into little slices and sort of put back together. i think i found the display of the brain the most interesting though since it reminded me of psych and all the pictures i saw of the various parts of the brain. nerd alert. oh shut up.
anyway, after that, we walked to chinatown for lunch. now the walk there wasn't so bad since it was all downhill. but the walk back up was a BITCH. i hate hills. we were all sweaty and panting when we finally got back. yuck. then it was off to fisherman's wharf. wandered around for a bit. deb got the seashell chocolates she had been craving. we went into a crazy hat store and took stupid pictures. i wonder if the owners get annoyed with people for doing that. oh well. watched the lazy sea lions for a bit. but then it started raining so we went to get some clam chowder. or, like mayor quimby's nephew says on the simpsons, "CHOWDAH!!" it was very yummy in the bread bowl. i think i like the one i had at monterey bay a little better though. anyway, it rained a little harder while we were eating and once it got a little lighter, we started to head back to the car. i think we headed back around 6 or something. ha, mike, and i all fell asleep in the backseat with our mouths open. how attractive.
got back to fremont, rested a little, then mike and i went back to his house to pick up his xbox. brought it back to deb's house where the boys spent the rest of the night playing and the girls spent the rest of the night trying to find something to do. we wound up playing girl talk, taking quizzes, and just being stupid. okay, well the stupid part was mostly just me taking stupid pictures of my face with ha and mike's cell phones and changing their wallpapers to retarded pictures of my face. heehee. it's quite funny though. in a very immature way.
on saturday, mike and i went to the wedding of one of his friends on the hockey team. it was a very nice wedding and i actually had a lot of fun. the actual ceremony itself was a bit boring since it was almost like a regular mass. the cool part was that the wedding was held at the church i used to go to all the time (where i got my first communion and was confirmed) but the sucky part was that i hate mass cuz it's so damn boring and robotic. but for the first time, i actually listened to what the priest was saying during his sermon and it just made no sense. so i guess it's a good thing that i always dozed off during that part of mass. i did try very hard not to get teary-eyed during the vows though. i know it's stupid because you see weddings all the time on tv and i barely know these people but there's just something about hearing two people taking their wedding vows in real life that makes the romantic sap in me just melt.
anyway, the reception was much more fun. it was held at this really nice winery that was smack dab in the middle of this gorgeous vineyard. i really liked that it wasn't your typical ballroom and that it looked very unique. plus, two words: open. bar. i am so having an open bar for my wedding. granted, i didn't really take much advantage of the open bar but i'm a lightweight and i didn't feel like getting sick at a wedding. i had a glass of chardonnay and a cosmopolitan and that was enough to get me tipsy. one of my favorite parts of the reception was this video that the groom and his best men had made. it was basically a re-enactment of the afternoon delight song from anchorman with them lipsynching and dancing around and just being all around goofy. so cute and so hilarious! that's another thing i want for my wedding - a funny video.
since the bride and groom were both filipino, they also had this cool tradition called the money dance where the guests basically pin money onto the bride and groom and then dance with them. by the end, they were covered with money. whoever thought up this tradition is a fucking genius. not only do you get wedding gifts but you get to be literally covered with cash. niiiiiice. too bad i'm vietnamese. hmm. maybe i can just find a filipino guy to marry. or maybe i can just pretend to be filipino. i don't know but i want a money dance at my wedding now too!
anyway, afterwards the bouquet/garter throwing. i didn't go out at first but the bride saw me and tracy (thuy's girlfriend) and told us to go out. so we went out and cautiously hovered near the back of the group. unfortunately, the bouquet went right towards us. it was funny because we both watched it land in between us but neither of us did anything. actually she blamed me for not catching it and i blamed her for not catching it but whatever. the bride threw it again, closer this time, and one of the girls in the middle caught it. yay, we're off the hook. the rest of the night was just dancing. i hadn't danced in a while so it was pretty fun. good music. plus, some of the adults are just so funny to watch. it's like they all knew ballroom dancing or something. and you know, drunk guys dancing is always pretty amusing to watch as well.
aaand...that brings us to the end. sunday was a pretty chill day because we were tired and worn out. but yay for the good weekend! i'll post up pictures later. or not. depends if i'm bored or lazy.
